Next best thing to a DVD course.

For its' price this is a really good collection of lessons for beginners. There's a lot of quality material and for the asking price one can do a lot worse. It's not as good as a high quality DVD course, but then again it only cost a fraction of it too. Highly recommended! :-)

guitar method book

Book includes three books in one which saves you money for a long-term student. Has a nice variety of music, along with chord technique. Would recommend for teaching basic guitar.

Great for beginners!

I already knew how to read music, but I knew nothing about playing a guitar. Of all the beginning guitar books I've looked through, this one has absolutely been the best value. This book has been the easiest way to get my daughter and I off to a good start learning guitar. I think if I had to...

Great pace for a beginner

Bought this for my eight year old son to introduce him to electric guitar. He's very excited and loves to work from the book because he's heard many of the songs before. Excellent tool for the beginner.

Kindling for your campfire jam ...

All these positive reviews make me want to vomit. It's wasting the time and money of so many students. Why this is such a popular method I'll never understand. This book does nothing and goes nowhere. Each page is so contentless that you'd wonder how it ever got published. To put it into...

Great way to start.

Great foundation for learning the guitar. The CD's are a nice addition for the solo learners/players out there, so that you can hear what the music actually sounds like when played correctly.
