PROS: Fast, black & white print quality, scan quality, duplexing, and many useful features for a small business at a reasonable price. Allows you to print till the last drop of ink, even with low ink warnings.
CONS: The output tray on top of the input tray is fragile. You have to lift it up to replace your 1/2 ream of paper. I haven't broken it ? just have to be aware of it. It sounds like a small AB press when printing (ok, maybe not that loud).

PROS: Real nice feature set. Good quality printing.
CONS: Again, HP software nightmares are fiarly constant. Plus, the ADF feeder constantly double graps documents, and the scanner has become completely useless.

PROS: I replaced an older HP model that had given many years og reliable service. This printer is just as noisy, but quicker and produces great quality prints. The scans look good too. The buttons and panela re laid out logically and easy to understand
CONS: Not many, the unit appears to work wioth remanufactured inks OK. A lot cheaper. and print quality still very good. Howevr see comments about software below.

PROS: Low price and decent quality printouts
CONS: If the color print cartridges run out you can not print in black and white. Thus you have to buy all 3 color cartridges if they run out and they are not cheap. This is the case even if your black ink is full. There is no B&W only mode.

My new MFC845CW will not scan as the included software (paperpoint) does not work with Vista. Brother says they have no solution and told me to buy a copy of the latest release that is apparently compatible. So, my MFC is really a near worthless boat
