At Smarter.com, we aim to ensure we give you the most sound buying advice possible. With our 'Cumulative Product Rating' system, in order for a product to receive a rating score, it must have a minimum number of ratings to qualify.
This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

"Great product. No problems for 3 years"
I love it for all its functions (music, radio, recorder) and its reliability. It can also be used as flash disk to backup files.
PROS: I've dropped it a few times and have used it extensively for 3 years and it has delivered. Its good for audiobooks and music. Recording is a great and handy feature as well. You can fast forward by using the Hold button.
CONS: The head phones needs to be replaced. But get a good set and it works fine.

"Great little mp3 player"
I like the feature of the E260 I have added pictures on it,good sound quality. I up graded the headphone to imetal maximo 390 and added a 2 gb micro sd card. I would buy another or E280.
PROS: Good battery life, easy to load music on.
CONS: none as of this posting.

Great product, much better than IPOD in my eyes
This item is great. It freezes a bit, from time to time, no longer than 5 - 8 min. Only thing I'd prefer is if it read music like the IPod (songs you listen to more frequent will play more offten) other than that it is great

v1 refurbs are still out there, apparently. Lucky me!
Just got done installing Rockbox on it and am loving it (the only real reason to get v1 over v2, at least for now). The "easy installer" on their site didn't work, but installing manually was a piece of cake. So basically for $40 you get a...
