The Vanson Hailwood jacket - the one pictured is the black '60's era item (there is also a red and white '78 comeback version) - is being produced in a run of 500 for each version. Each jacket is custom made for the buyer from U.S. competition weight leather with your name embroidered on the inside and includes vintage style embroidered patches, a rayon lining, a limited edition racing print of Mike Hailwood and a certificate of authenticity. The jacket has a few other cool period features such as a space on the back for the I.O.M. rider number and an embossed signature and embroidered Mike Hailwood helmet design on a leather patch on the chest. How to order one of these fine items: The best way to order would be to make an appointment with our Apparel Manager Karen, meet her in our Los Angeles showroom and she'll perform her tailoring mojo (reinforced by her time working at Vanson) to make sure your custom jacket FITS! If you cannot make it to our showroom, contact Karen and after collecting some basic sizing info she may be able to arrange to have a Vanson sizing "mule" (a sort of mock up version of the jacket) sent for you to try on. We wish a custom fit was easier and lent itself to one-click shopping but it doesn't. A Vanson Hailwood jacket is usually delivered 4 months from the order date and, as with most custom made items, all sales are final.
