"There were several problems I had encountered with the Dell Latitude D600"
If I didn't have to turn the computer in to get fixed then I wouldn't be so dissatisfied. Also the mouse wasn't able to be fixed and I've talked to other people that have had the same problem.
PROS: It was quite fast and had little delay time in start-ups and shut-downs
CONS: - mouse had gone bad and moves everywhere - It would freeze every so often - the right side of the connection from the bottom to the top broke off.

"it's good if your not a gamer and you don't want high performance"
my opinion is buy this if your strictly in need of a cheap computer, but be prepared for a lot of problems, if you have any questions you can email me fausey14@gmail.com
PROS: it's light, thats about it.
CONS: could be thinner, i have 2GB ram and it still runs slow, has a problem with stand-by mode, hardware fails a lot, could be higher screen resolution (1024 by 768), the keys stick sometimes.

"Great machine if you know what you're doing."
I'm a IT technician at a rather large company and received mine for free (not going to say what company). I initally hated Dells as most people do, but my intentions for this machine were definitely not what what I intended with my other two machines
PROS: Good speed, portable, smaller screen, enough hard-drive space

"Good simple for every day use"
nice laptop but if you want something special it isn't for you. It's simple and to the point. Can become slow and it isn't a problem of having a lot of programs and documents. I totally emptied it and it is just a little faster but still on the slow
