Blues Deluxe
New York guitar phenom walks tall in the blues tradition with this third album, jettisoning fiery riffs inspired by John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Elmore James, and Albert Collins into the future with furious playing, a hard-rock sensibility, and a grizzled voice that owes a debt to Gregg Allman. Equally inspired by the Delta blues and the mid-'60s British blues boom, the young firebrand--who titled this CD after a Rod Stewart song penned while in the Jeff Beck Group--is able to fuse those two schools together, creating edgy blues rock. --Jaan Uhelszki more

Joe Bonamassa - Pays Homage To The Blues Masters
More outstanding blues rock from one of this country's top young blues guitar slingers Joe Bonamassa. On this, his 3rd album, Joe does an album of mostly covers. Bonamassa breathes fresh new life into tracks originally performed by blues masters like Albert King, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy,...

Simmer down
This phenom is getting major hype, huge kudos from newbies, some of it merited. He's got guitar chops, but is not original, and still has absolutely nothing on the generations of great blues guitar masters before him, whose stuff he's cobbled together into a slick commercial sound. Take the title...

studio practiced
I just love listening to Joe Bonamassa on my satellite radio, so I got this one, after checking the various reviews.Although I still think he is the greatest, this album is a bit stiffer, it is very "studio"... too practiced... but still a high quality album, just that I prefer the radio stuff.

Somebody get me a glass of water! I need to sit down!
I have listened to MANY Blues artists over the years (because I play the Blues Harmonica) and this guy is better than any I have ever heard - yes, that includes BB, Eric, and Stevie Ray. Kenny Wayne Shepherd rivals him on guitar but some of the licks are so soulful you'll shake your head in...

joe bonnamassa "Blues Deluxe"
Great guitar work from joe! Even toning it down a bit for the more traditional blues, Joe does some serious ripping on some great blues standards.
