PROS: We gave this as a gift for my son-in-law's college graduation and he loves it!! He majored in film so nothing gets past him where photography is concerned. He kept commenting on how crisp the pictures are...even long distance shots.

good price, new model, took it home and it was horrible in dimly lit applications. Returning it for the higher model gs85 that has built in light or the sony. Also, no usb interface, making me have to buy a $30.00 firewire to usb wire.

PROS: Amazing picture with several upgrades like xlr inputs added and a great new lens.
CONS: A bit pricey but if used by the right person can be very much worth it. Take it from a 5 year televison and film veteran.

PROS: State-of-the-art DV imagery and controls; 24P mode; interchangeable lenses; native 16:9 capture; compatible with most XL1 lenses and accessories.
CONS: Strange ergonomics; stock lens is hard to focus manually and stock viewfinder doesn't help; no flip-out LCD monitor; pricier than the competition.
