If you are looking into buy this camera....DON'T. get the Sony HDR-A1U High-Def camera it's 20x times better,newer,same price and High-Def.if you buy the GL2 you will get the "remove the cassette" warning after about a year of use!!!!!

Consume to Pro
This is one of Canon's top selling cameras. I've had mine 3 years now & just recently had some servicing done, by a friend engineer ( total cost me under $100, which is very good) This had been a wonderful camera for me, very little trouble with it.

Tape Eject Problems
GL2 is fine camera except for random and inexplicable "eject tape" prompts which stop recording/playing. Went online to find that this is a common problem as are other tape transport problems.

I managed to save over the summer and bought one. Very nice and a very good price here at b&h. I love the picture quality and the manual focus. That seems to be hard to find on a camera in this price range. and I even like the picture quality
