"Great Software, solid product."
I go to a school with 300 students, all of them having Macbooks. I've noticed very few component failures other than optical drives. Bootcamp is extremely useful when running Microsoft Office on Windows XP. Mac does offer a compatible version of Offi

PROS: It's light and highly portable. While it runs hot under high stress, I've had it 2 years with no related component failures and a fairly large amount of stress. With Bootcamp, I can run Windows XP with few problems.
CONS: The plastic build is a little too flexible. I cringe when I pick up the computer from near the edge. Like many laptops, the optical drive is prone to failure, but is covered by warranty. The 2 USB ports are on the left side, with none on the right.

"I love my MacBook ... but ..."
I love my MacBook but it didn't get me free from Microsoft and if the MacBook falls apart in the next six months, which is looking likely, I will not buy another.

PROS: There are no wizards or other 'magic', the MacBook is like a good car it doesn't make a noise when you leave the lights on, it turns them off!
CONS: 1. My MacBook is 8 months old, I use it daily and I am on my second power box and today it's on the blink. It is already cracked and lost some of it's previously great looking finish, I am concerned it will not last out the year.

Apple originally introduced the MacBook in May 2006 as the successor to the older iBook G4 and 12-inch PowerBook series. This notebook was designed with student and adult consumers in mind and with both consumers, the company had tremendous success.
