Jimmy Eat World
Emo-rock band Jimmy Eat World exemplify all that is the modern radio rock sound. Singing and playing with a conviction and sincerity that will melt the heart of even the most stoic of listeners, they produce rousing, well-crafted anthems along the lines of Third Eye Blind at their roughest or a more polished Green Day. These guys appear to be able to write ready-made singles at the drop of a hat, as evidenced by "Your House" as well as the title track. In fact, there is a rather shocking maturity to their material that belies the band members' ages (all in their 20s). While they sometimes veer into cringe-worthy power-ballad territory, overall Jimmy Eat World give the people what they want with Bleed American. --Ike Bolton more

As one of the reviewers mentioned the first song people recognize from Jimmy Eat World was the song The Middle. Well at least for me it was the first song I heard of them and since I really liked the song I purchased the cd of course....

Well, it's catchy. Sharp, hooky, effervescent. Unfortunately the instruments often play like cliches... Repeated chords, choruses, etc. For those of short attention span, kids, I guess. I'm not exactly sure what the cover's supposed to...

- very easy listening.
i'm typically more into heavier things like tool, system of a down, oldschool metallica, etc... but this is a pleasure. it's good to have in the car if someone doesn't like metal etc. "sweetness" and "the middle" are my favorites.

Jimmy Eat World's Bleed American has not one awful track on this stellar album. All 11 tracks touch me in some way even The Authority Song! Jim Adkin's vocals are so strong and unforgettable especially on Sweetness and A Praise Chorus....

- I like JEW, But what happened?
I wish i could enjoy listening to this album as much as do when i listen to "Clarity." But there is so much missing. Jimmy Eat World is getting progressivley worse as time passes. If "my sundown" wasnt on this cd, i would give it one...
