New Masters
Dion and his music represent a special time and place... a moment when a song could mean so much and a singer could sum up what it means to be young, in love and on top of the world. Today, Dion's songs grow more important and valuable to his fans, himself and to a whole new generation of believers. "New Masters" contains all-new versions of Dion's classic hits, a few tributes to other pioneers of rock's first generation, and some brand new songs including a beautiful ballad Dion composed for his wife ("Behind Susan's Eyes") and a stunning response to the terrorist attacks of September 11th ("Come Heal This Land"). more

It's like an intimate concert..
Let me preface this review by saying not only are these not the original hits they are not even quite the same arrangements as the originals, but that is by design. These recordings from the studio are meant to sound like a live recording at a small venue, and it certainly does. If you are...

Entertaining
I have really enjoyed this album since getting it. Hearing these songs with such crystal clarity due to modern recording techniques is great. I definitely recommend this disc.

BOY! WHAT A FIND!!
I love the oldies and this is better than " 5 STARS ". What a great selection of songs and I thought I would wear it out so I bought a second copy as a backup. Believe me this is well worth the purchase. In fact I have the concert DVD called Dion "Live" at the Tropicana in Atlantic City. This...

Like fine wine, Dion's better than ever
Simply put, this is a great album. I am blown away by "Drip Drop" and "Ruby Baby." every song is longer than the original. Since I'm into concerts, I am used to songs sung differently. Here Dion stays true to the originals yet the songs are stronger, longer and bluesier. I highly recommend it.

New masters- same masterful sound
Over the years Dion may not have produced any real significant new music, but his "sound" has gotten better. Listening to this album reminds you how good his early songs were. Each song has been updated with stronger rhythm, background and horns; and frankly rock even better than the orginial...

40+ years later after he got into the biz and his voice is STRONG
This CD is interesting to say the least as Dion does place an interesting twist on a number of his old hits. They are fresh and wonderful to listen to. His new covers are pretty good as well. Not just vocally, but the arrangements as well. Music is great and the back up singers are damn good...

Just Might Have Been Better
As good as this sounds, and as nice as it is to hear on CD what his (then) current renditions of his classic hits sound like, the CD inexplicably includes several cover verisions of other artists' signature songs, and his versions here pale by comparison. So 15 minutes is given over to covers,...
