Highway 61 Revisited
Millenium digipak reissue of 1965 album includes original artwork. 2001. Dylan was virtually gushing great songs when this masterpiece arrived in the summer of 1965. From the epochal opening of "Like a Rolling Stone" through the absurdly apocalyptic closer, "Desolation Row," his command of surrealistic language was daring and amazing. As a vocalist, he was rewriting the rules of the game. Jimi Hendrix made note of Mr. Z's technically suspect pitch and decided that he too was a singer. And the backing, though ragged, is precisely right. Is this the essential Dylan album? It's certainly one of them. --Steven Stolder

They say Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil out on Highway 61. Bessie Smith died on that Highway. Martin Luther King died close by. A lotta blues were sung, are still sung, along that highway that goes from New Orleans to Canada,...

One of Dylans absolute great albums. This is a must have for any music fan and especially anybody who's into Bob Dylan. This vinyl cut sounds great and really brings the album to life. I would definately reccomend this LP.

- Put a blanket on the bed, already
This is an interesting CD from a musical history point of view. It is a period piece. The songs are lyrically incredible, musically derivative, and the vocals are annoying to the point of distraction. Bob Dylan had to either have...

Highway 61 is a masterful album - great protest lyrics mixed with poetic imagery and every song a classic, the band complementing Dylan to perfection and his timing, as most of his sixties albums, very impressive. You've got to remember...
