very good job
Apostrophe captures Frank Zappa right after releasing his incredibly diverse, whacky, energetic and exciting "Over-nite Sensation" album. While Apostrophe doesn't quite have the same high points THAT album has, it's still pretty good. Lyrically, like always, they are interesting and twisted, in...

Frank Zappa - The Genius of Apostrophe
Frank Zappa. No one can come close to paralleling this man's boundless genius as one listens to 'Apostrophe.' Frank was not only a skilled musician, but an amazing lyricist who wound his lyrics into his songs; all of which make infinite sense to the listener. From "Don't Eat the Yellow Snow"...

Period (.)
Some of Frank's best work ever. Very deep introspection of his subject matter, superb music composition, and of course the muse of the satire that makes Frank so intriguing to listen to!

Frank Zappa - His Comercial Peak
Zappa had his first real commercial success with his previous album "Overnight Sensation" and "Apostrophe" would follow up with more novelty songs, especially "Don't Eat The Yellow Snow" which would actually garner him a significant amount of radio airplay. This is another album that gets mixed...

Another perfect gem from the man himself!!
Geez where do you start? I was already a longtime Zappa fan when this came around. Frank took another twisted turn and I took it with him. For the purists this may be a little too funny and a little too popular, but I think that was as much FZ as the deep love of do wop, Edgar Varese and other...

Good fun, though not for the whole family
Frank's first gold, and if you ask me it deserved that distinction. The first side is a mock concept album about an Eskimo and his adventures concerning huskies with overactive bladders; fur trappers bludgeoning baby seals with snowshoes; St. Alphonzo; and gay priests having sex with leprechauns....

"Don't Eat The Yellow Snow" by the CD!
As the author of the Jefferson Airplane book "Take Me To A Circus Tent" and a former radio disc-jockey, I am often asked to write and or discuss various music supplies and recordings from the 60's and 70's. "Apostrophe" released in March of 1974 has been called "More accessible Zappa." Maybe...
