thoroughly hated this book
I have to say I couldnt finish this book, mostly because i threw it across the room a few too many times. The abuse and willingness to take the abuse the heroine endures is not only impossible to read, you cant even feel sympathy for her anymore....

historical novel
I don't think I'd recommend this series - too lengthy and too unpleasant and not enough real history. Somewhat interesting but not totally satisfying. Ending OK but not great. This series is strange, but probably believable for that time period.
