The Anna Russell Album
At Smarter.com, we aim to ensure we give you the most sound buying advice possible. With our 'Cumulative Product Rating' system, in order for a product to receive a rating score, it must have a minimum number of ratings to qualify.
This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

Anna Russell - A Timeless Treasure
Anna Russell's humor as well as her knowledge of music never gets old. Her body of work continues today to be as entertaining as ever. Her review of "The Ring Cycle" is still the best preparation for experiencing the entire Ring that one could...

The Anna Russel Album
Miss Russel quite funny as usual, but buyers should be warned that these CDs are cheap reissues lacking the original booklet with all the texts and lyrics.

Anna Russell Album
Very witty and a beautiful mockery of all those classical music buffs who take themselves so very very seriously and see themselves as representatives of HIGH ART an blather on about their impeccable taste and knowledge

Still funny after all these years
I heard this performance back in the '60's and most of it is still full of fun and can still make opera lovers laugh.

Raves for Russell
Even though some of Anna Russell's material is somewhat dated (i.e. "Mairzy Doats, Aquatic Andrews Sisters etc.) this is a marvelous and painless way to become acquainted with the motifs from Wagner's Ring Cycle. I've listened many times over the...

Intelligent and musical fun.-
Due to the recent passing away of the legenday Anna Russell I bought this record and certainly did not regret it.- Inspite of having been originally recorded in 1952 and 1953 the sound is very good.- Ms. Russell combines a great sense of humour...

The Genius of Anna Russell
If you love music, but are happy to see the funny side of even the great composers, then this album is for you. Anna Russell is a singer of note but a comedian of greatness. She finds the pivotal styles of composers and caricatures them to great...

If you enjoy laughing..
I love opera, but I also enjoy spoofs of opera. Anna Russell was a classic "spoofer" of operatic stories and conventions. Nobody does it better. My favorite on this album is her take-off on Wagner's "Ring."

Anna Russell strikes again!
I have heard all of these Anna Russell selections at one time or another, but having them all together in one place, and on a CD, is a real plus. She is absolutely riotously funny. I teach a course in "Introduction to opera" and use her segments...

Anna Russell is a SCREAM!
I've had the vinyl of this album for over 20 years; the CD purchase was to update my system. For anyone who loves classical vocal music, and in particular the Wagner Ring Cycle and Gilbert and Sullivan, this album is a MUST. You will split your...
