The TRIPP TRAPP(R)forgoes a feeding tray in exchange for a closer connection between a child and their family at mealtime. Thanks to a distinctive angled configuration that provides children with an intimate mealtime perspective, the TRIPP TRAPP(R) became the most imitated wooden high chair on the market. Peter Opsvik, creator of the TRIPP TRAPP(R) convertible high chair, had a simple objective when designing this versatile wooden high chair: to allow children of all ages and sizes to sit comfortably at the family dining table, rather than outside the family circle. Peter accomplished this via two methods. The first is the TRIPP TRAPP's(R) angled design, which enables you to move the highchair up to a table of any height, thus allowing your child to eat at the table with his or her family. The second is the TRIPP TRAPP's(R) multiple height adjustment settings that open up a range of seat and footrest settings. Thanks to this high-degree of convertibility, the TRIPP TRAPP(R) can comfortably accommodate anyone -- from a 6 month old baby to a mature adult. No tools are required to adjust the seat height or footrest, and only a minimum amount of work goes into setting this durable, ASTM certified high chair up. The TRIPP TRAPP(R) is designed to work with tables up to 32" high. Stokke accessories for the Tripp Trapp high chair permit parents to comfortably seat children aged 6 months or more in this wooden high chair. A TRIPP TRAPP(R) Baby Rail , sold separately, attaches to the seat and functions as a passive restraint system; there is also a 5-point harness restraint included. A specially designed TRIPP TRAPP(R) Cushion is also available. With all these elements in place, the result is an extremely versatile high chair that will retain its usefulness for years to come. How does the TRIPP TRAPP(R) compare to the Svan High Chair ? A reasonable comparison to the convertible TRIPP TRAPP(R) is the Svan wooden high chair. Both of Scandinavian design - but with a markedly different aesthetic - the Svan and the Stokke are both beautifully constructed and will support the weight of an adult. The Svan offers a removable feeding tray, and has numerous height adjustments. Note: While the feeding trays of most high chairs force a child to sit away from the table and outside the family circle, the TRIPP TRAPP(R) embraces the opposite philosophy. The TRIPP TRAPP(R) high chair's angled design provides children of all ages and sizes with a closer family connection during mealtimes. It does not come with a feeding tray, nor is there one available for purchase . . . you simply don't need one.
