upgrade
some of the blue ray dvd's will not load up.the samsung model, I have is bd-p1400, do i need to add upgrade's to play some of the blue ray dvd's

A great player now better.
This player has a great picture quality on both BD and HD-DVD. It upconverts wonderfully with the Reon chip. Now with the new firmware out, as of 5-30-08, it is 1.1 compliant and the sound quality is par with the best out there. Just my opinion.

I've had this since Jan. 08. It had great promise. Unfortunately, this thing is a brick straight out of the box and two firmware updates have not helped. Now Samsung refuses to support it at all. If you want a good picture, this will do. But I bought

I'm at the theater!
Even though Blu-Ray won the format war, I still wanted a dual format player. You can find HD-DVD movies for 1/2 to 2/3 the cost of Blu-Ray discs. Not all titles are available in both formats either.
