From: Amazon Posted: Jul 22, 2008 Type: User Review Don't waste your $$$

Terrible product by Sony. Yes the picture is great, but it doesn't outweigh the hassle of >2 minute warmup time, flimsy remote, extremely poor upscaling and very few bells and whistles (didn't even have 'time left' feature).

From: Amazon Posted: Jul 16, 2008 Type: User Review Great picture, big annoying problems with player

I purchased my unit at Christmas in 2007. I've gradually begun using it more and more.

The good:
When you get a Blu-Ray DVD playing, the picture and sound quality rock!

The bad:
DVDs often take an...

I work for the Computer Art Department at a large university in Manhattan. We bought this player to replace a broken DVD player in our presentation room, and have had to return it because of how SLOW it is. It takes upwards of 30 seconds for this...

This is a pretty versatile player for one with supposedly no frills. Standard DVD's look great, and Blu Ray is stunning. The load times for BD can be slow, up to 2.5-3 minutes, but that's my only complaint.

From: Amazon Posted: Jul 07, 2008 Type: User Review Sony Time-Killer 3000

I run LG's Super Blu and Sony's S300 next to each other. The Sony is by far the most irritating piece of equipment I've ever owned.

Everything is painfully slow. Walk up to it and press the open button, and you wait about 70 seconds...

Installation of this unit was very simple. Picture quality was excellent. Audio was excellent. Remote control was cumbersome. Machine startup was slow, but passable. Recommended unit.

When it worked it was fine, with great image and sound... much better than DVD. But at only 5 months old, it now refuses to play the disc inside, and won't even eject it. I'm sending it back to Sony for repair.

I recently purchased the player in early June of 2008. Utilizing a Blu Ray (BR) disc the picture is awesome. It works very well with non BR dvds as well. Yes it does take a little longer to warm up and play either the BR and/or other dvd but it is...
