"DIED, ALL OF A SUDDEN"
Liked this product, but only had a one year warranty. It died after 2 years of use. No way to recover data without 3rd party intervention. It makes a very beautiful paperweight.

Easy to use, but might not last too long

Don't Buy WD
I bought this item just to have it die almost exactly one year later. This is the third Western Digital Drive I've purchased and had gone bad after a year. These thing DON'T LAST!! DON'T BUY IT!!!

Worst service
Technical support for this devices is bad. After a year they will stop working, and you will have to pay just for a tech support phone call. Review warranty from WD before you buy.

Perfect Size Phsyically and Memory Wise
Western Digital's `My Book' line is a mixture of quality (performance) and quantity (available space). These external hard drives work smooth, but may occasionally click (come on it's only natural with that much information). Now with the terabyte model available why pick this one (500gb model)?...
