Midwestjack's Review of Dell Inspiron 8500 Laptop
I have owned this laptop for over 5 years. No joke. In that time I have upgraded the RAM and upgraded the HD - both to improve performance. Recently, after 5 years that is, I have had to replace a burned out graphics card (I'm surprised it lasted as

Review of Dell Inspiron 8500
It heats up, battery life is rubbish, and under the warranty they say certain things aren't covered, so make sure you read the small print. I have a work laptop which I use too. It is an IBM Thinkpad. It is not as big as a Dell laptop, but it is dur

"terrible quality"
This is a terrible machine, do not buy it. I have had my system for 2 months and the power switch/motherboard connection has died. It is VERY heavy but the case seems very thin and flimsy, the cover for the power button can be pried off with a finger. I am typing this note on my 4 yr old compaq...

"Unreliable"
I have just learned that the mother board on my computer will have to be replaced for the second time in a span of 9 months. I have only had the computer for 15 months. If I hadn't purchased the extended warranty I would be completely out6 of luck. I will no longer put anything on the computer...

"It's an ok laptop"
I have had to send this machine back to dell 3 times to get fixed and for very minor things. My inspiron 8100 was a nightmare machine and much slower. The AC adapter cord also broke and I had to send that back. also the screw popped out of the screen twice which is a pain. You must have a...

"Great computer! Great service...at a price!"
There is a reason why Dell offers several different levels of technical and product support -- great service and product support costs Dell more than basic service and limited support. In general, customer service in the computer industry stinks. I do not know how much it costs a computer company...

"A very awesome machine"
I had this machine built to order. 2 gig Intel Centrino, 1gig ram, 128 mage X4 video card, 7200 RPM 60 gig hard drive, 15.4 top of the line display. I went all out but paid a lot. Hardware is excellent and never had a problem in the year I have owned it. Did have a software problem and that cost...

"Hard drive crashed and failed"
We bought this computer in May of 04 after much research. Unfortunatley all the research I did was for nothing as this computer has been a slow machine and started having errors within the first year of use. It has now been a little over a year since we bought it and I have fixed error upon...
