"Decent for the price but slow and very hot"

I got one when I started college. It's been durable and reliable, but I've had to upgrade the memory to get anything done on it. The battery life is pathetic. On a full charge, mine lasts about an hour. This effectively renders into a desktop without the upgrade potential. I would not recommend...

Overall, I wouldn't say it's great - but because it's lasted so long - really a miracle. I've had to reformat two times. There was once a time when I needed to have an actual fan on it for it to work well - but a good vacumm or duster blower into the fan helps too. Solid laptop...I'm using it...

"Terrible after 1 year"

I own this laptop for more than 2 years now and of late I hate it. It overheats ..reboots regularly. and battery life is lessthan 15 mins.. terrible laptop not only 1100 but most from DELL .. I wont buy one more laptop from DELL....

I have had this laptop for over 3 years now after having it for 2 is when it started over heating but it only does it if I try doing somthing like playing a "good" game or watching movies for an extended period of time, other than over heating the graphics suck you can play games in full screen...

I have had my Inspiron 1100 for well over a year and still it's running strong. I recently replaced it with an Inspiron 6000. Another deal from the Dell Outlet! Only upgraded for better performance and Centrino.
