"Not for Those Working in the Field"

We use garmin GPS's extensively for field work and currently rely on the GPSMAP 76 CSX. The Colorado 300 is a step backwards from this model and it was a big disappointment. The absence of multiple track display and the inability or difficulty to int

Worth the money! Great for hunting

I think most of the 1, 2 and 3 star reviews on the Colorado 300 were written before Garmin released several software fixes. This unit may have been released for sale before all the bugs were corrected in the software. Kinda like Microsoft Windows 95. That thing crashed all the time till the bugs...

Repeat after me:"I will never take this camping. Just like my aluminum water bottle""Press ONE for ENGLISH""Doesn't work with MOST SD cards""Will be obsolete in a year, like all 37 other Garmin models that are released every six months""All accessories for this unit are lower quality than...

Great unit overall

Using it for a few hours, this are the attributes I've observed:Pros:-I love the wheel interface as it makes the overall navigation very handly and can be operated with just one hand.-This gadget is one of the most precise and accurate GPS unit I have used thus far. Where am I?

Has Garmin forgotten that some people use GPS units to determine where they are? This unit displays position coordinates in an extremely small font, making them almost impossible to read without smashing your face up against the glass (and I have perfect eyesight). I've read the manual and...

Best GPS we ever owned!

We started out geocaching with a Garmin 60CX, and it was great...then my husband left it on top of our car, we drove off and there it went. We did find it but it no longer worked. We sent it to Garmin and we got a refurbished one for $125, it worked fine until we tried using it at night and we...

Frustrating interface

The 300 has a few nice features, like the compass and geocaching support. But the interface drives you crazy. I develop software user interfaces for a business and have never seen something so frustrating. Trying to find a location by navigating with the up, down left, right keys is a...

Colorado 300 is a Good Value for the Money.

I have had a lot of experiences with GPS units and systems. It seems that a lot of people are expecting too much from these inexpensive GPS units. None of the relatively low cost handhelds that I have used or tried come with detailed maps. You are not going to be able to get Google Earth levels...
