I'm not a huge Valentine's Day girl. To me, it's just another Hallmark holiday. I really think we should be showing love to the people we care about year round, don't you? (Or maybe I'm just a non-romantic cynic. Your call.)But regardless, having a Valentine can be fun. And as long as you remember to love your significant other every day, there's nothing wrong with taking the opportunity to go out and have a little fun. Oh, and dress up. And get made up. My favorite things. Yay!This is your last weekend to prep for any Valentine's Day fun. If you want a dramatic make-up look, amazing hair or a great new outfit, here are a few suggestions to wow your date.Drama Queen: Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Liner in Black Ebony, $22. If you want a seriously dramatic eye, go for cake liner. Laura Mercier makes a great one. It's easy to apply, unlike liquid liner, and produces a tight line or a thick line depending on what look you want. I'd go with a bit of a thicker line, winged out into a cat eye. Super-special for a fun date!Heaven Scent: Marc Jacobs Oh Lola! Perfume, $45. This flirty scent is perfect for Valentine's Day. With hints of raspberry, vanilla and peony, it's pretty and subtle. When I smelled it the first time, I was instantly in love! It's the perfect scent to take you straight into spring.Pretty in Polka-Dots: H&M Polka-Dot Blouse, $18, or Forever 21 Contrast Polka-Dot Dress, $23. Nothing says "charming" like polka dots. Stop by the mall and pick up the H&M blouse. Wear it with a black pencil skirt on Valentine's Day and, after, wear it with a pair of dark-wash, boot-cut jeans and a brown belt for a low-key look. Or if you want a floaty, fun dress, this Forever 21 number is a great option.Pump It Up: J.Crew Mona Leather Pumps, $198. If you just want to wear your LBD out next week, why not invest in an incredible pair of pumps that will last forever? These J.Crew heels are the perfect pop of color. I'm in love with the golden sunflower, brocade blue and brick red. All would be great additions to your closet (and mine!).Curl Girl: Conair Ceramic Flocked Rollers, $44. Huge, soft curl? Totally romantic. I absolutely adore hot rollers. Put them in, spray with flexible-hold hairspray and then let them set for an hour. Take them out, shake them out, put in a dollop of shine serum and go. You must make this investment for your hair and get hot rollers.
