"Impossible to change battery"
The unit works reasonable well, although acquisition is sometimes slow, and instructions are some times too late. The maps are OK. The voice instructions are very well articulated and easy to understand. The battery in my unit would not recharge af

"Some good, Some bad"
The Sony NV-U83T has a 4.8" wide-screen, which at first seems great. It looks quite nice, however it's not REALLY 4.8", because the left hand side of the screen hosts 2 stationary touch-screen buttons, which never go away. So it's still a touch scree

"Great Value GPS, Large Display, touchscreen & bluetooth"
I have a pocket PC with Co-Pilot Live which has more features, but my total investment (pocket PC, Co-Pilot Live software, and GPS sleeve) was much more than the $104 I paid for the refurbished NV-U83T, which I really think is a good unit for the mon

Intersection issue
I didn't see this mentioned anywhere else, and perhaps it's just a pet peav of mine, but, unlike the Garmin I have experience with, this unit would only find an intersection to navigate to if a town was identified first. Instead of just using two roads, it asks for a road, then a town, before...

"Best of the Bunch!"
Hey Everybody, I bought the Sony U83T and have run it through its paces in my Chevy Uplander for the last two weeks. Previous to this model, I had and returned the Tom Tom 330S, Garmin 260W and Navigon 2120 max. I am please to say this is my fourth

Great GPS
My wife received this GPS as a gift a few months ago and I must say I am VERY impressed. We upgraded to the newest firmware right away so I cannot speak on old firmwares but route finding is quick, the screen is very readable in all lighting conditions and the dual view (closeup and zoomed out)...

"Shame on Sony"
Shame on Sony I bought the Sony NVU83T GPS because of the larger 4.8" display and as a loyal Sony customer, because of my past experiences and love of other Sony products, but this GPS does not live up to the Sony name. This the worst GPS I tried so
