Transfer of Power

What if America's most powerful leader was also its prime target?

On a busy Washington morning, the stately calm of the White House is shattered as terrorists gain control of the executive mansion, slaughtering dozens of people. The president is evacuated to an underground bunker, but not before nearly one hundred hostages are taken. One man is sent in to take control of the crisis. Mitch Rapp, the CIA's top counterterrorism operative, determines that the president is not as safe as Washington's power elite had thought. Moving among the corridors of the White House, Rapp makes a chilling discovery that could rock Washington to its core: someone within his own government wants his rescue attempt to fail.  more

Page Burner

High energy novel - did not want to put the book down. From the first page to the last page you were entralled with the movement of the book's plot. Great suspense novel for people who are enticed with spy and government covert operations.

Terrific suspense!

If you love constant action and great suspense, this is a book you will love. While you know pretty much how it will end, it takes nothin away from enjoying the ride to get there. Couldn't put the book down. Can't wait to read more Vince Flynn!

I just found Vince Flynn, he's one of the best.

I just read this after my teenage nephew told me about Vince Flynn and I thought I'd start at the beginning. I ordered the other books in the series half-way through this one. While written 10 years ago this book might be even more relevant today than when written. I kept checking the...

I did want to like this book...

...but I dislike it, a pretty fair bit. My copy is 549 pages long. Precisely 300 pages too many. This is the first "thriller" I've read in a long long time, and I find myself skimming it. Boring, clunky characterizations, descriptions, dialogue. I suppose something like this is all about...

This book is excellent

Vince Flynn certainly has excellent sources both in the intelligence and defense communities. Although the mere thought of an official assassin in the CIA is a bit of a stretch if one remembers it is fiction they will greatly enjoy this book.

Ohh Ya!

Mitch Rapp is the modern hero fighting the bad guys with one arm tied behind his back. The problem is that it is usually the people that are supposed to be on OUR side that have it tied! You wont be able to put it down and is surely my favorite in the series.

Poor Formatting for the Kindle

This is a review of the Kindle edition, not the paper versions.I found this book doubly disappointing. The first and most bothersome problem was the poor formatting- inconsistent capitalizations, run together words, strange hyphenations. This was distracting and didn't allow the story to flow...
