Fight Club: A Novel
The first rule about fight club is you don't talk about fight club. Chuck Palahniuk's outrageous and startling debut novel that exploded American literature and spawned a movement. Every weekend, in the basements and parking lots of bars across the country, young men with white-collar jobs and failed lives take off their shoes and shirts and fight each other barehanded just as long as they have to. Then they go back to those jobs with blackened eyes and loosened teeth and the sense that they can handle anything. Fight club is the invention of Tyler Durden, projectionist, waiter, and dark, anarchic genius, and it's only the beginning of his plans for violent revenge on an empty consumer-culture world. . more

Fight Club
I like most saw the movie first then read the book. I'm a big fan of the movie and watch it often. The book was a great read and although I own MANY books this is one of a few that I enjoyed.

Fantastic novel...
I had seen the movie adaptation of this book many times before I finally bought the book. The book is excellent and written in a style that is at times anecdotal and at other times stream of conciousness. I enjoyed this book enough that I have since purchased several more of Palahniuk's books and...

I am Jack's inflamed sense of disappointment.
One of the very few cases in which the movie is actually better than the book. This has actually never happened to me before. I love the movie, but when I read the book I was just disappointed. I think most of the reason is because the writing is just..amatuer, for lack of a better word. If...

Best Book I Have Ever Read
This is easily the best book I have ever read. Chuck has some other GREAT books but none as good as his first (really close though, especially Survivor). You will be glad you read it.

Amazing.
Amazing. I was dying to read this book for the longest time (since my friend turned me on to Palchunuck and I've seen the movie fight club). It was nothing much short of what I hoped for.It kept the classic Palchucknuk jumpy feeling to it, which is amazing.I must warn you, it would probably be...

I liked the movie better...
Between the movie and the book the stories are pretty much the same with a few details changed and other things put into different spots. I have to say that I liked the movie more. I think the story lends itself to a visual medium much more and Pitt and Norton were awesome. They brought life into...

Very different from the movie
I read this novel after just recently after seeign the movie back when it premiered those years ago. Fight Club was and still is one of those stories you'll never forget. The one thing I love about the book is the contrast it has to the movie. With the movie, David Fincher took certian liberites...

Fight Club
I usually tend to expect alot more from the book than the movie as any other reader will be glad to help you with, but when I began to read this book I was certain to be wrong this time since the movie was almost perfect. Surprisingly the book showed to be a much better experience than the movie...

Don't need no stinkin' rules
Tyler, Tyler, Tyler, I just don't trust you. I know, I've violated the rules so I'm doomed.First of all, the book came before the film and the film came before the DVD. Unfortunately, I saw the film before I saw the DVD and that was before I "heard" the book on CD. I love them all and will...
