Kids of Degrassi Street - Ryan Runs for Help/ Martin Hears the Music

Martin Hears Music: Nobody wants to be different from everyone else, and Martin is horrified to discover that he's going to have to wear a hearing aid. And it certainly doesn't help that everybody starts acting so weird around him. The class is putting on a talent show to raise that last little bit needed for the yearbook. But Martin's magic act looks like it's going to be a disaster because he won't wear his new hearing aid. Lisa and Casey keep smacking into each other in their song-and-dance routine, and the stage management is more like stage massacre. And Rachel, who is after all, the only one with real talent, simply refuses to go on stage, convinced everyone is laughing at her because of her weight. It beings to look like the show that must go on, won't. The parallel stories of Martin and Rachel twist neatly together with a mysterious poem and a quart of milk from the Degrassi Grocery?and, of course, a wonderful show.

Ryan Runs for Help: Ryan is always making up stories, and it's hard to know when he's telling the truth. But his best friend Benjamin is convinced of Ryan's tales of treasure when Ryan produces evidence?he actually has a gold coin he found! Even though he's grounded, Benjamin sneaks out to a construction site to investigate with Ryan, and ends up falling down a hole and can't get out. Ryan runs for help to the only person who might believe him Benjamin's big brother Billy. But Billy's on a walkathon to raise money for the yearbook, and suspects Ryan of trying to trick him. And it looks like Billy was right, because when he finally does go back to the construction site with Ryan, Benjamin is nowhere in site... The younger kids of Degrassi Street turn in truly heart-stealing performances in a touching story about a little boy who just needs some help growing up.  more
