An Integral Part of any Guitarists Collection
There are many reviews on this CD but still felt compelled to add a few comments. I knew Ted and studied with him at the time he was writing his first book "Chord Chemistry" and when he was recording this album. Ted was a George Van Eps fan, as some have noted, yet it was the fact that he was a...

impossible
I have been listening (on a regular basis) to this recording since it became available in 1977. I wore out the vinyl and now have the CD. I am a jazz guitarist who does not finger pick except on Latin American tunes. I know Ed Bickert loved this guy, and it's a shame he made only one recording....

there a only a few ike this
Lenny Breau, George Van Eps, Ted Greene.. . there only a very few who have the deep knowledge of both harmony and technique to create such beautiful chord-melodies. I could list a few more, but these are my top three, and there aren't many more. This CD is a must for any listener with interest...

Brilliant

That led me to Amazon, where I was surprised to find Ted's record for sale. Glad I bought it. He has a wonderful way with the standards. It's hard...

I have waited so long for this
I am a George Van Eps lover. I came by this reissue when I was shopping for Van Eps CDs. The listening of the arrangements of these songs is a wonderful trip through the beauty of harmony. Voices responding to each other, bass lines and harmonics are magnifying the whole experience. The...

Magnificent guitar - a chord melody tour de force
I have few words to offer that can do this album justice. If you love solo jazz guitar, you will treasure this contribution from one of the all-time masters of the instrument. The multi-part arrangements sound like at least two people playing at once. Walking bass, lyrical melodies and...

I don't own this but I love it! It is absolutly SUBLIME !
It may seems strange. I don't own this record, but this morning I can't do nothing but listen countless times the samples of "Solo Guitar" here on Amazon. I find this record sublime. Nothing less. I didn't know about Ted Greene prior to these listenings and I am a Jazz guitarist that knows every...
