These would be fans of the scaldingly snide Sedaris's hilariously described personal misadventures like The Santaland Diaries (a monologue about his work as an elf to a department store Santa) seen off-Broadway in 1997. Reading a book by David Sedaris is like reading a column by Garrison Keillor--mostly quite boring. Both are good when they are live reading their material because it is all in the delivery.

Unbelievably, pant-wettingly funny. His take on apple-picking is one of the most beautifully structured comic essays in history, and his experiences in a nudist colony are brilliant. Sedaris is a god. A god!

This book caught me quite off guard. My sister had been telling me about this author David Sedaris for a while and she got me a copy of Naked for Christmas one year. It took me some time to read it and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it....
