Stay away from Nintendo. If they have an update that brakes boxes, they will make you pay for the cost of repair even though it was an update to their system. They will not provide the software for the wii in order to repair a unit after they do not

The Wii is great for small children and families. If you are looking for anything for the Teen-Adult audience, you'd want to stay away from the Wii. Overall, though, the Wii is a very fun system and can be played at all ages.
