SONY Xternal USB Floppy Drive MPF88E works for everything - except what we bought it for. It won't download hard disk drivers when trying to reinstall/fix WINDOWS XP. We had to borrow another drive that did work. Other than that, no problem....

So far it has read all my disks. The cable is not removeable. It's length is fine for a laptop but a little short for use with a desktop. It does work with a USB extention cable, but it would be nice if it had a regular cable with A and B ends...

PROS: Easy installation, no drivers required. Can be used as a bootable device.
CONS: Not a big issue, but I bought Sony for the brand name. It says Sony on the case but the device is recognized by my computer as a Mitsumi drive, not Sony.
