Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 Upgrade
At Smarter.com, we aim to ensure we give you the most sound buying advice possible. With our 'Cumulative Product Rating' system, in order for a product to receive a rating score, it must have a minimum number of ratings to qualify.
This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

Nice upgrade from MX
One of the early WYSIWYG web page builders I used was an Adobe product that had the worst manuals and workflow ever, so I assumed the Adobe influence on Dreamweaver would be awful. This upgrade was a pleasant surprise, fixing some key issues I...

3 one-star reviews confirm my Adobe experience from day one
I, too, used to love Dreamweaver and currently have version 8. My experience with Adobe over many many years has been that their software has ALWAYS been overpriced and over-bloated. I HATE Acrobat, which I have NEVER been able to use...

Sad successor to a great program
Quite a few years ago I switched to Dreamweaver when Marcomedia was still the owner. I loved how fast it was, and how clean it created web pages. At the time, FrontPage was its competitor and FP was a joke. I followed Dreamweaver until CS3. This...

Beware of Adobe's Activation Process!!!!!
BEWARED OF ADOBE'S FLAWED ACTIVATION PROCESS and the fine print in their EULA. The fine print will not let you transfer a license from a Windows machine to Mac OS X even if you have purchased a new upgrade version for the MAC.

Not an Upgrade!
This is not an upgrade for all Dreamweaver MX owners. I own Studio MX, which includes Dreamweaver MX. This upgrade does not support upgrades for software collections like Studio. When they say, "Dreamweaver MX, 2004, 8" they mean only these...

"THIS IS NO UPGRADE. Dreamweaver itself gets 7 stars, but I gave 4 for total..."
THERE ARE NO FIXES TO THE EXISTING PROBLEMS FROM DREAMWEAVER 8. If you hoped the bugs from DW8 would be addressed in the next release, it didn't happen. Download the demo version and see. Just like the CNET writeup said, DWCS3's interface is "familia
PROS: Dreamweaver is still a good program, but you're wasting your money if you already own it.
CONS: This is Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 rebranded to Adobe. That's all it is.

"Adobe/Macromedia - A Match Made in Purgatory"
BOTTOM LINE (To spare you my long rant): DON'T PURCHASE this ALONE or as an upgrade if you have MX or especially DW8 unless you purchase one of the "suites". Intermediate to advanced web programmers won't really need or care for the "new" elements, t
PROS: Some Familiar Dreamweaver Design, CSS Enhancements
CONS: Clunky, No Signficant Improvements from DW8/MX
