An Inconvenient Truth: The Planetary Emergency of Global Warming and What We Can Do About It

An Inconvenient Truth?Gore?s groundbreaking, battle cry of a follow-up to the bestselling Earth in the Balance?is being published to tie in with a documentary film of the same name. Both the book and film were inspired by a series of multimedia presentations on global warming that Gore created and delivers to groups around the world. With this book, Gore, who is one of our environmental heroes?and a leading expert?brings together leading-edge research from top scientists around the world; photographs, charts, and other illustrations; and personal anecdotes and observations to document the fast pace and wide scope of global warming. He presents, with alarming clarity and conclusiveness?and with humor, too?that the fact of global warming is not in question and that its consequences for the world we live in will be disastrous if left unchecked. This riveting new book?written in an accessible, entertaining style?will open the eyes of even the most skeptical.

Where is the research?

Is one supposed to just believe Al Gore? A cranky left wing politician who has no credentials as a scientist, declares man is causing global warming. What a stupid premiss. This book has no research, nothing to substantiate his claims. I guess he appeals to the believing is seeing crowd. Most...

Must Read

So maybe Al Gore hasn't been the BEST example in global warming leadership. Does that make his facts less relevant though? I think not. Anyone who cares about their environment should at least read this book. It's more of a picture book anyway, so there's no excuse to not be able to read through...

AMAZING BEAUTIFUL BOOK!!!!

This book is the best book I have seen by far on global warming in my opinion. I really like how it is filled with graphic pictures on every page and how the content is simplified so that anyone can understand the global warming issue. Great book!

A convincing argument with an excellent presentation

This is an exceptional book that presents its scientific arguments in a manner that is cohesive, well organised, and excellently presented. The author posits that ongoing and progressively worse pollution of the atmosphere is causing planetary climate change. He argument is sound: he presents...

Great Book

This is a great book. It's too bad so many political conservatives feel the need to give it fake 1-star reviews just because they disagree with the author's political views.Reviews should be based on the merits of the product, not on political views.

The little things matter

Fantastic book. I haven't seen the film yet, but I loved the book.Gore does a wonderful job of presenting the data beside interesting diagrams which really help illustrate his point. Whether you believe global warming is a problem or not, you'll probably find this book interesting. Towards the...

Gore's "truth" is more like Propaganda

"An Inconvenient Truth" The Planetary Emergency of Global Warming and What We Can Do About It" is more like Propaganda. I do give Al's book two stars, probably more than it deserves, because the data do seem to show a slight warming in Earth's average annual temperature. However, I checked the...

An Inconvenient Truth, or calculating deception?

Inconvenient truth, or calculating deception? As a scientist, the book's points -- though fascinating -- echo as insincere. Well-established steps comprise the scientific method: (1) Pose a question, (2) Do research, (3) Construct a theory, (4) Test theory by experiment, (5) Analyze data, (6)...

Hyperventilation

Hyperventilation over a non problem. Not a scholarly or unbiased look at the issue. Fails to provide any evidence of how global warming may prevent cold weather related deaths and improve agricultural production. This book describes a sham scary scenario as a pretext for controlling our lives.
