This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

"Not what I wanted"
DVD's burned from programmed TV programs won't play on other DVD players. Clock won't set automatically and loses 30 seconds per week. DVD's burned from VHS won't play on other DVD players. Panasonic customer service isn't much help either.
PROS: Easy to program. Plays VHS and DVD ok.
CONS: Can't view burned DVD's on other DVD players.

"Not a bad piece of equipment but......"
Everything is as the other reviewers said but it doesn't do me any good as I cannot 'finalize' the newly created DVD. As par for the course, the manual is written in Japanese-American so its not the easiest to read. On page 10 3a, it says just to pre
PROS: Fairly easy to use
CONS: I can't figure out how to 'finalize' the new DVD

"OK while it lasted"
It was OK when I first got it other than when using the built in tuner to watch TV the picture would have lines in it like bad reception. I could record a show and play the DVD on another TV and the lines weren't there so I guess it was just a weak
PROS: nice for putting home movies on to DVD
CONS: degrades the signal to the TV, does not last

"good recording tough to program"
As above, I love the quality of the recording but meandering through the recording menu is quirky and not obvious. I love the ease of the onscreen menu RCA and others have used and really wish Panasonic would use something similar. I have no solid id
PROS: good quality recording both VHS and DVD
CONS: quirky and akward programming

Not sure whether this is the same model or not, but this is the product it brought me to when I linked from my invoice.

Awsome! Husband loves it.
If you are looking for a good gift this will work. This player is awsome. It takes about a day to figure out but when you do its worth it. Keeps him occupied and happy which makes me happy. Thanks Panasonic for makeing such a quality product.

It's easy to connect to a hdmi plasma television ,it records hdtv over the air channels. The price for this reconditioned unit was a steal.

Good But Frustrating to use
Overall, after 4 months of ownership, I regret buying the Panasonic DMR-EZ475V. While the quality of the recordings is VERY good, the machine is frustrating to operate. The response time is very SLOW when you press any of the commands. My...

Panasonic DMR-EZ47V
Bought this product after returning a Toshiba unit. The VHS section of the Toshiba broke after 5 tapes were copied. I have been using the Panasonic since early April 2008. Have copied many movies from the satelite system with no problem....

Great features, but unstable and unreliable
When I bought this unit in May 2007, it was my first DVD recorder and came loaded with all the features I wanted: VHS-to-DVD dubbing, a built-in tuner, 1080p upconversion, MP3 playback, "Flexible Recording" to DVDs, and lots more. I spent some...
