Sanyo DSR-2004H16 160GB MPEG-4 Digital Video Recorder Sanyo D S R2004 H 16 160 G B M P E G4 Digital Video Recorder The Sanyo DSR-2004H16 digital video recorder is designed as a low-cost comprehensive recording solution for small- to medium-sized security applications. The DVR accepts up to four analog cameras and, using its built-in multiplexer, is capable of displaying all four cameras on one screen at the same time recording is taking place. Switching between cameras can be done manually on the front of the unit, or by programming sequential switching with individual dwell times for each camera. Video is recorded in the highly versatile MPEG-4 compression format which offers superior picture quality while using minimal hard drive space or network bandwidth resources. Live and recorded video footage can be viewed locally on a standard or VGA monitor, or on a remote Internet computer using Sanyo's DVR utility software. Working from a networked PC, an operator can also access the PTZ function of certain dome cameras via a telemetry control protocol. By attaching a microphone and speaker to this unit, an operator can also hear and speak with a person at a camera or PC location. Up to four clients can access the unit simultaneously with a password system determining the level of access for each user. Video recording can be continuous, or programmed to begin based on a number of factors including at a date and time, at the event of an alarm, or when triggered by the unit's internal motion detector. This not only saves valuable hard drive space but also makes it easy to locate particular video footage among many hours of recorded material. Short-term video or still images can be recorded to a CD/DVD burner or Memory Stick attached to the USB 2.0 port on this unit. Setup and operation are quick and easy with a user-friendly on-screen display offering programming in several languages, and a supplied remote control capable of controlling up to nine DVrs.
