Nikon D700 Digital SLR Camera 12.1 Megapixel Body Only
The Nikon D700 SLR Digital Camera brings professional imaging with a full frame image sensor to a lightweight yet durable camera body. It features the exclusive 12.1 Megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor, measuring 23.9 x 36mm, which is nearly identical to the size of a 35mm film frame - thereby eliminating any significant crop factor or focal length multiplier. Images taken with the D700 exhibit exceptional overall quality, broad tonal range and depth, along with extremely low-noise throughout its expansive ISO range of 200 to 6400. Nikon's exclusive EXPEED Image Processing System is central to driving the speed and processing power needed for many of the camera's features; such as the 51-point auto focus system and speedy 5 fps frame advance, and the camera incorporates many of the features that have made point-and-shoot digital cameras so popular - such as Live View, Auto ISO, more

"Best high ISO camera I have ever used!!"
Having used the D300 for over a year it was not difficult to adjust to the D700's controls. I shoot manually alot and on some occasions in program mode.I always ishoot in RAW mode therefore have no need for some of the various other options available

Best DSLR for the money
Pros: Durable build, full frame, high ISO Cons: None I almost waited until the new Canon 5D Mll came out in December od '08 but I'm glad I didn't. Being a Nikon owner for the last two years, I was thrilled with the build of quality of my D80. Having

"I did not think I'd like this camera - but......"
Bottom line is that I don't regret spending the money on this camera. I was a D3x - but I can't afford it & that's unrealistic as an amateur to do. Yes, I'd like to see some more MP - but I have the exact same sensor as those with the Pro D3 so I'm n

"Finally, my (nearly) perfect camera"
I recently switched from the D2x I've been shooting with for the past 4 years to the D700. The D700 product announcement caught me by surprise last summer as I thought I had another 6 months to a year before seeing this product released. I had repl

D3 sensor with sensor cleaning
Pros: Beautiful high ISO, excellent AF Cons: None. After shooting film for decades, it's been hard settling into a DSLR. There are compromises with all of them, this included. Canon has several lenses that I prefer to the available Nikon equivalent.

Nikon D700
Pros: As good as the D3 but half the price. Cons: This camera is not for beginners. This is the best camera I have used so far. I have always been a Canon user since I grew up using a Canon AT-1 film camera. I gotto admit, learning how to use this pr

"Pro Camera. Pro Features. Incredibly Detailed Images."
With 30+ years of experience in teh Film Industry, I can honestly say this is the best camera I have ever owned. I am not sure what the reviewer is smoking, but www.dxomark.com rated the sensor on this camera as one of the best they tested. In all

"Solid, qualtiy, versatile workhorse!"
Breathtakingly high quality images which can be cropped and enlarged significantly. High ISOs are very usable providing truly excellent results. It seems that additional megapixels would be of little 'real world' use. Peerless solid, quality, weathe

"Nearly perfect."
What's not to like about a body that is almost equal to a D3 for $2k less? I've only had the camera a short time but those reviewers who think 12MP isn't enough, I say are shortsighted. More megapixels does not equal better images and the files cre

Photos and image samples: Nikon D700 For those who don't need the indestructibility or built-in vertical grip of a traditional pro dSLR like the Nikon D3 or the Canon EOS-1D Mark III --and that's quite a chunk of the pro market--smaller, lighter, an
