Create your Smarter.com Product File

You can create your Smarter Product File (SPF) in Microsoft Excel, Notepad or Wordpad. We find it easiest to create your SPF within Excel.

How to create your SPF using Microsoft Excel.

1. Launch Excel
2. Download the sample SPF template (click here)

   OR

   Enter the Smarter.com field names in the first row (list fields horizontally)

   • Product Name
   • Product Description
   • Brand Name
   • Smarter.com Categorization
   • MPN/UPC/ISBN/ UniqueCode
   • Regular Price
   • Sale Price
   • Product URL
   • Image URL
   • Stock Availability
   • Product Condition
   • Shipping Costs
   • Shipping Weight
   • Shipping Zip
   • Promotion
   • Keywords
   • Bid Amount
   • Coupon Code
   • Coupon Start Date
   • Coupon End Date
   • Coupon Description
   • Coupon Restriction

3. Copy your data content into the corresponding columns

   (Repeat this process for all products you would like to be listed on Smarter)

   * No special characters allowed in the datafeed such as: (&@#$%)

   * No HTML tags allowed in the datafeed

4. Save your SPF

   * Open the 'File' menu in the top left corner, click 'Save As...'

   * In the 'Save as type' pulldown, enter your 'Company Name' as the 'File Name' Do not submit a file in .xls (Excel) format. Always use .txt or .csv format.

   * Click Save
