A good book to get started

This book is very easy to read and understand. I was able to sew a tote bag right away. However, I was disappointed at the small amount of information presented and it was hard to reference info as I needed.

This book is "Ok", and probably rates about 3.5 stars. I checked it out from the library, and I'm glad that I did. While it is a good book for teaching general information about sewing, I honestly think that once you read it, you won't need to keep it around. The patterns are really pretty...

No real photographs

I'm new to sewing and bought this book based on the reviews. The problem with this book is that there's no real photographs of the finished product. As a novice, a real picture of the end result would help to understand what I am making.

Excellent

I love this book and I have kept handy ever since i began sewing. It has simple start up designs. I would recommend it. It gives a good foundation on the subject. I always keep looking back when i get stuck on something.
