Blue Ribbon Afghans
I had been looking to buy this book for a while, purely based on the cover picture. The price and my reduced budget put it a little outside my comfort zone. When I did finally decide to buy it I was astounded by the array of beautiful patterns it contained. This is a book with which you could curl...

It's A Keeper!
I have been searching for this book for some time. Words cannot express how happy I am to finally obtain my personal copy. The rich colorful pictures of these afghans highlight their beauty and the skill of their makers. My favorite pattern is on pgs. 54&55, "Baby Rings". I can't wait to try it...

blue ribbon afghans from america's state fairs
This is a lovely book with lots of information .Each afghan has detailed easy to follow instructions, however not all are made using a crochet hook! Some utilise the use of an afghan hook which came as a bit of a surprise as I thought all were crocheted. Also some use cross stitch to embellish...

Less Than Impressive
While there are a few designs in here that true showstoppers I was less than impressed with the selection as a whole. Much of the offerings herein are color based, in that they aren't technically challenging at all. Others are just plain bland. The book's main appeal is the state fair information.

Great book
This is a great pattern book - I have a collection and am an intermiediate crocheter - this is a great addition. Regarding other reviews - yes, there are a few duplicate afghans shown in different colors - but I appreciated that, as it illustrates how color can so change the feeling of the...

Excellent patterns, clear instructions.
I really love this book. Whether you are looking for a blanket to wrap up in, a gift for a new baby, or a challenging pattern for your own state fair, this collection has it. There are so many different afghans to choose from! (Although there are a few repeats, which was a bit disappointing.) The...

This book is a plethora of state fair history, beautiful pictures and well written patterns. There are afghans that would appeal to a beginner as well as an expert. Standard yarns are suggested, nothing too fancy or hard to find. I am looking forward to trying some of them, would love to put my...

I like it but it doesn't give yarn brands
I really like the afghan designs in the book, and will definite make a few of them, but I wish the book had the actual yarn brands that people used for their blankets.I have a hard time deciding which yarn I'd like to use on a project, so recommended brands would have been nice, but they at least...

Gorgeous Afghans!
I ordered this book only after looking though it throughly. It does repeat the directions for a couple of afghans, however they look different because they are in different configurations. If you are an adventurous beginner, then it's very possible that seeing there are different methods of...
