AMD Athlon XP Processor

I have Athlon XP 1900+ (1.6GHZ) processor that is based on Palomino core. With special copper heatsink, temperatures do not rise more than 60 oC on 100% CPU load, but with standard one it climbs to 75 oC. Nice processor, stable and reliable (with special heatsink and no overclock), good...

Review of AMD XP

I have an AMD Athlon XP processor and AMD XP heat sink. It seems to do the job, but it's probably the fan that does most of the work. The sink is aluminium. Aluminium is a good metal for destroying heat, but not so much for carrying it, so most of the heat doesn't leave the CPU area. Copper is...

Review of AMD Athlon XP Processor

The AMD Athlon XP processor is great. 2.0 (well, more precisely, 1.99) gHz means good performance, and is just what most people need. It can cope with all the latest technology demands, from gaming to Google Earth! My average CPU temperature is around 55c, but I guess that's good considering...

(Edited April 16th by alasam) I have been buying AMD processors all along. I have not tried any Intel. Since I know AMD is better pricing than Intel and performs equally, I do not need to waste extra money for an Intel. It is the same case for this processor. I installed this processor in about...

Aside from the AMD Fan being just too weak, and sometimes too noisy, these processors are the best. I have purchased AMD Processors almost exclusively for several years now and have only had two go bad because I put a fan on them incorrectly (completely my fault). Their reliability is top...

I am very happy with this processor. I had never installed a processor on a motherboard before, but had no problem. The documentation in the package was easy to follow. Barton core will allow for overclocking if desired. Big improvement over my 1.33 GHz Athlon.

I am not a very experienced computer user, so a friend of mine set up my entire system. I cannot believe the speed of my machine. I have great video and dvd burning speeds, unlike the old IBM machine I was using before.

I have a 2800+ in my computer so, when I went to build another computer and wanted to keep the price down and performance up, I chose the 2600+. The 333MHz Barton core speeds up the computing and is still relatively inexpensive. AMD won me over years ago with their quality CPUs and I will...

This is a very fast processor that sells at a bargain price. The only difficulty I had was with the installation, which had me nervous because this was my first athlon and I have heard people say that they are very tricky to install. Once I got through that, though, I was very impressed at it's...

(Edited August 15th by bennettd) I love AMD prices but lately I have had to send at least 4 processors back for warranty replacement. What going on? AMD always replaced my processors with higher rated speeds. Big plus!
