This is a replacement for a similar Polder thermometer. It is simple and easy to use. I appreciate the ability to change the temperature, either higher or lower, without having to go through the whole cycle of temperature settings.

- Why fuss about an unneeded On/Off switch?
There's no need for an On/Off switch. I've had one of these ten years. In that time, I've replaced the battery twice. I bet even if I removed the battery every time I put it away (which would be a hassle since I use its timer feature...
