The infrared thermometer was purchased as a gift. The reciever is very happy with it. It works as expected.

works well, needs to read hotter

This is very compact and works very quickly. I have tested it on boiling water, ice water and hot oil and its readings are consistent with other thermometers as well as expected values. Its limitation is the maximum temperature being below 500 degrees F. For high temp. cooking it would be nice to...

Great device, you need to know a bit to use it well.

I've used and then owned IR thermometers for years. They used to cost hundreds of dollars. I've used a couple of commercial ones in the kitchen the past few years... they work well, and don't need to touch what is being measured. But they cost about a hundred dollars. This one is $40. The...
