Sony DSC-W290 Cyber-shot Digital Camera (Black) DSC-W290/B

The Sony W290 is based around a 1/2.3" SuperHAD CCD image sensor with 12.1 megapixel resolution coupled to a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar branded 5x optical zoom lens. The Sony W290 offers equivalent focal lengths that range from a useful 28mm wide angle to a 140mm telephoto, while the maximum aperture varies from f/3.3 to f/5.2 across the zoom range. Macro focusing will be possible down to a minimum of ten centimeters. The W290 will forgo any optical viewfinder in favor of a 3.0" LCD display with 230,000 dot resolution. The Sony Cybershot W290 will offer ISO sensitivity ranging from 80 to 3,200 equivalent and will include both true mechanical image stabilization, as well as Digital Image Stabilization which functions by raising the camera's sensitivity (and along with it, the noise levels) so as to achieve a higher shutter speed and reduce motion blurring. "Warning! Soft photos!"

More than half the pics come out blurry and "soft" - camera just doesn't deliver SHARP pics I desire although most pics are vivid and bright

Great camera

I believe this camera is great. Taking pictures in a 16x9 format makes viewing images on a HD tv great. If you have a PS3 it makes things even easier. The 720p format for capturing video is awesome. I've always been skeptical with cameras and vid

Great Camera

This is a great camera. 12.1 MP is stunning when it comes to the quality of your images. The battery life is very long which was a plus. I bought several items from this website, everything I received was great so far!

for 220 bucks this is the best camera u can get. CNET is wrong. U CAN zoom 5x in HD recording mode. They must have had a demo camera or something. But I can confirm u can ZOOM in recording mode which makes this camera a 5 outta 5.
