La Vie en Rose: La Mome
At Smarter.com, we aim to ensure we give you the most sound buying advice possible. With our 'Cumulative Product Rating' system, in order for a product to receive a rating score, it must have a minimum number of ratings to qualify.
This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

movie sound track
Very good reproduction of the original masters. I enjoy it over and over because I liked the movie and the music of that era. The actress deserved the Oscar I think. Todays musiic does seem like music to an old timer.

Nails on a Chalk Board
Someone somewhere must like her voice but it's not me. I hope the movie was better than the sound track.

Piaf Fan
The album was disappointing. I was looking for more of Piaf singing. I did not expect to hear Piaf wannabes or soundtrack background music.

A truly magical voice
This CD is unbelievably beautiful. It brings back all my memories of the blessed Edith Piaf. I shall cherish this super upgraded album for many years to come.

Edith Piaf Movie
I was disappointed in as much as one of the best songs from the movie was left off the sound track "La Vie En Rose". This was the song by the child actress who played Edith as a child and sang the French national anthem. I have all the other...

piaf made easy-listening
It's wonderful to listen to Edith Piaf's singing in a clear, unscratched, updated CD. It's probably also a little disloyal- wouldn't she have preferred the old copies, with the surface noise? She was never into glamour.

Wish I Had Saved My Money
I love Piaf and I didn't care for this CD. This singer is simply not believable as Piaf. If I had a voice, I could do better myself. Very disappointing. The passion of Piaf just isn't there, sorry.

This CD is not a true sound track of the film.
As wonderful as this CD is, especially the extraordinary remastering of old Piaf recordings, I was most disappointed that the captivating a capella performance of the Marseillaise (sung by Jil Aigrot?)by the child Edith on the street with her...

Two strong recommendations
By placing a passel of Piaf's originals at the beginning of this excellent three-act soundtrack, inevitably anything that follows her set will have a hard time holding up. But the score for this beautiful movie can stand on its own, and fulfills...
