and it was just right

Dear Zoo is a delightful little story. The flaps are easy for little fingers to open and also tough enough to withstand a little pulling. My daughter chooses this to read often and doesn't mind at all that she has learned what animals are under the flaps.

Keeps 'em busy

Bought for my 15 month old, for a plane trip. He was delighted by each page, the repetitive wording was simple enough for him to enjoy as I read to him. Growled at the lion, laughed at the monkey. With time, the lift-the-flaps have broken in enough for him to open w/o help. Cardboard flaps...

Great little book!

This is such fun for my two year old grandson! It is tough enough to last through many readings, and he is fascinated by opening each one of the little doors as we read through it. At this age, he probably does not really "get" the story line, but he loves the surprise of each little door...

Another simple, repetitive story for little ones!

Children like a repetitive structure because it helps them understand what's going on and predict what will happen next. (For that matter, adults like it too! Repetition is a crucial part of traditional storytelling and modern-day speechifying.)This one is about a child who wrote to the zoo for a...

Great Book

My two year old son loves this book. The pages have flaps you lift and then you can see the animals. He loves that. We read this book every night repeatedly before bed.
