I know I may be asking a lot but I only use my drive for simple data burning. I have some data and write it to the cd. When I upgraded from 98 to XP the software was useless but using the built in XP burning capability it worked OK but...

as soon as the drive went out of warranty (12-months) it started crunching and wouldn't recognize disks. I roll the dice to determine if I can write a cd or not with it. Time for a non-Plextor. Can anyone say Lemon Law?

although it does make a great burner,my luck isn't allthat.sometimes it wont rip any mp3's because of a faulty disc even though it's brand new,and other times it likes 74m-maxell's and burns away w/o any problems and those types of disc...
