Designed as an integrated solution for recording CDs from sources such as vinyl LPs and cassettes, the unit is completely self-contained and requires neither additional peripherals nor computer connection. To facilitate dubbing from a turntable the unit features dedicated grounded RIAA phono inputs. The CC-222MKIII also features a variety of built-in interfaces, including analog inputs and outputs, both optical and coaxial S/PDIF connectors, all of which allow for recording CDs or cassettes from just about any external audio source. This includes other CD players, portable MP3 players and MiniDisc . It also offers internal dubbing from cassette-to-CD and CD-to-cassette. Since the CD-R/RW drive of the CC-222MKIII uses rewriteable CDs, worries about ruining a blank disc are non-existent and it accepts a wide variety of CD media, including professional and consumer CD-R and CD-RW discs.
