great value for SQ
I bought a pair of these to replace my abused Kenwood excelons in the rear doors. these JLs are average sized and shaped 6.5" door speakers. nothing to gawk at graphics and outwardly design-wise. the magenet is of an unimpressive size. dome...
PROS: price less distortion than 5x7s in the midrange
CONS: less bass than 5x7/6x8s

solid mid bass
Quality built speaker not too over sized,fits in many types of cars. Has a nice crossover. tweeter is clean and clear.can handle loud music for a long period of time. If you have the money buy these you can't go wrong .
PROS: Sounds like you have an eight inch woofer in the doors,clean clean highs

best coax I've used
I managed to scrounge a pair of vr525-cx's from a dealer that was replacing them with a newer version, the cxi's at 50 dollars for the pair I had nothing to loose, I replaced my eclipse sp8952 with these pair in the factory location of a dodge...
