My old and reliable Cobra Radar Detector went out and I decided to get this one. I don't know if Cobra made the newer models less sensitive or what. This model has no range and gives too many false alerts. Am sending it back to get a Beltronics...

Good unit, better out there for the price.
The Cobra 9840 has plenty of features that are good. The only major problem is the lack of radar sensitivity. Not close in comparision of other brands of units such as the Whistler pro 78 or xtr 690. Both are within the price range of the Cobra...
