Nikon SB R1 Wireless macro flash system

Designed for use with Nikon SLRs featuring built-in Speedlights & Commander such as the D70, D70s or D200 and supporting Nikon's Creative Lighting System (CLS) with exclusive i-TTL (intelligent-TTL) flash technology, the R1 system offers more sophisticated lighting possibilities with astonishing accuracy. The system comes with all components needed to make complicated lighting easy, including the SX-1 Attachment Ring, two SW-11 Extreme Close-up Positioning Adapters, a SW-C1 Flexible Arm and a SW-12 Diffuser Panel and more. Angle of coverage - 78 degrees horizontal & 60 degrees vertical / Flash modes - i-TTL, D-TTL, TTL (film-based cameras), M (manual) Bounce capability - Flash head tilts down (toward optical axis) to 60 degrees with stops at every 15 degrees, and up (away from optical axis) to 45 degrees with stops at every 15 degrees / Flash duration - Approximately 600 micro-seconds / Target light - White LED Mounting foot - Dedicated shoe for SX-1 Attachment Ring or AS-20 Speedlight Stand Power - One 3V CR123A battery per speedlight ( not included ) Camera Not Included Dimensions - Width 80 x Height 75 x Depth 55 mm, 3.1 x 3.0 x 2.2 inches  more

70-180 is fine, just use UR-5 to attach it to the lens body.

Now finding a UR-5 in stock might be hard. I use the R1 with my 70-180 just fine. I think you could probably even get away with it on the front of the lens (filter threads) if you manually focused. The UR-5 doesn't fit quit as well on...
